For Your Consideration: Hot Chicken from SFA

This weekend is the 10th annual Southern Foodways Alliance Field Trip.  Dozens of lucky southern food enthusiasts and experts are gathered in Atlanta, Georgia to explore the “changing American South” via the Buford Highway, according to SFA, the region’s oldest and most diverse international corridor.  I, a ten-year member of the SFA (ten, happy, well-fed years I might add) was supposed to be one of those southern food eaters being sherpa-ed around the strip malls discovering and tasting some of the region’s best Chinese barbecue and Salavadoran fried chicken but alas, the mortgage-paying job gutted my gastro plans.  For those of you who are eating your way around Atlanta, have a biscuit (or dumpling) for me.

For the rest of us a great film from the SFA Documentary Films on Hot Chicken – the addictive hot chicken craze in North Nashville where people are “chicken-holics!”

Hot Chickenby Joe York.  Meet Andre Prince Jeffries, and learn all about the addictive hot chicken craze in North Nashville.  It’s hot, and it’s fried.
