Bourbon and Brown Sugar Salmon Marinade

Did you go out and get yourself a cocktail whisk for mixing up marinades and salad dressings?  Try it out tonight by making Bourbon and Brown Sugar Marinade.  One of my go-to dinners is salmon cooked on the grill.  This marinade’s sweet and salty mix is a perfect match for salmon.  Recipe adapted from the Junior League of Seattle’s Simply Classic: A New Collection of Recipes to Celebrate the Northeast.

Bourbon and Brown Sugar Marinade

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

3 Tablespoons Bourbon Whisky

3 Tablespoons chopped scallions

2 Tablespoons soy sauce

2 Tablespoons vegetable oil

In a small bowl, combine all of the ingredients.

Pour over salmon fillets and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  1. I am not a big fan of salmon, but I try to eat it once in a while for the health benefits. I find that I have to mask the flavor with a stronger flavor. I think this might be another one to add to my repertoire, and there’s bourbon–even better!

  2. Bourbon makes everything better.
