Scottish Christmas Walk Parade

Bagpipes, dogs, old houses and kilts, put them all together and you have the Scottish Christmas Walk Parade — the official kickoff of the Christmas season in Old Town Alexandria.  More than 100 clans and pipe and drum bands march in this annual tradition accompanied by their faithful hounds and terriers.

Want to bring a little Scottish into your Christmas?

Try this Scottish Shortbread Cookies with Jam recipe from Eating the Big Apple. And this English Toffee Shortbread Cookie recipe from Culinary Alchemy sounds delicious.  How can anything with toffee not be good? And I may just have to grab one of these Scottish Nutcrackers as a souvenir of today’s parade.
